Tip of the day 12: Faux matting and layering.
Another way to get lots of layers on your card without adding weight is to do faux matting and layering. The most easiest way to do this is to use a permanent marker (Whether a sharpie or promarkers, spectrum noir or copic), the chisel end works well for this, and a ruler to put a line around the edge of your card. You knew there was a use for the chisel end. Other ways include inking around your card with a blending tool which gives a more subtle look but still frames your image and makes your image pop.
