Box of cards and all things nice.

One of my colleagues at work is leaving soon. She often forgets Birthdays and comes to me last minute to buy one of my hand-made ones, so I thought it would be nice to make her a box of cards to take with her to her next place. As it is usually the girls in a place that give cards, I was thinking girly so it had to be the sugar and spice CD ROM by Crafter’s Companion that I reach for.

I made the magnificent mailing box from the big score video CD ROM and my big score using lilac centura pearl to put all my 6″x 6″  cards in. I printed off some of the frame cards, which have two toppers and embellishments per sheet and found some 6×6 pastel paper. I then cut all the pieces out.

I matted and layered all the cards together and added the embellishments. I only added the sentiment to one, but added red liner tape to the back of the rest. These sentiments will then fit in the front of the box and my colleague can choose to add them to her cards if they are appropriate.

I finished the box off by adding a topper, matted and layered with pink centura pearl for extra strength and added the coordinating embellishments.

Sugar and spice

Here is a card I made using Crafter’s Companion Sugar and Spice CD ROM that I purchased recently in their sale. Some of the images are also on the latest edition of their Inspiration magazine.

The floral backing paper is from Halycon Days CD ROM left over from another project. I love this paper.

I printed off one of the frame card images.

I cut out the bow flower and sentiment and then using a craft knife and the inside of my tonic die I cut out the circle from the topper.

I cut the circle die from green card stock and stuck the image to this before sticking back onto the topper that I mounted on blue card. I also mounted the sentiment on the same blue card.

You can’t see on the photo but I have used spectrum sparkle pen to the image to add some sparkle.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges.

Tigers revisited

Hi CD Sunday’s 6th birthday challenge is to reblog a favourite entry into their challenge. My favourite post was this tiger card –

P1030019

https://mycraftysmell.wordpress.com/2016/03/01/thank-you-tiger/

for two reasons

  1. because I won.
  2. Because I am booked to do the tiger experience this Sunday (1st May) – I can’t wait.
